Consumer Behaviour Case Studies

Analysis of usage patterns for a household product (2005)
A major client requested an in-depth analysis on usage of a household product. The project involved HFAL consultants observing and interviewing respondents in their natural environments on their usage behaviour. From the final report, the client was able to get a deeper understanding of their customers’ motives, intentions and perceptions with regards to their usage patterns of certain products. This valuable piece of research was then used by the client to assist the company’s future marketing and product development activities.

Investigation into a new emerging market (2004)
This project involved HFAL consultants assisting a major client on a study into a newly emerging consumer market. The client had already collected a large amount of natural text from new and non-consumers. HFAL consultants were commissioned to analyse data to allow the client to lay foundations for the company’s future marketing strategy within the new emerging market. From the final report, the client gained the enlightened view of consumer behaviour that current research methods failed to reveal.
